Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist
At every Mass the Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion have the great privilege of distributing the Body and Blood of Jesus to those who come forward to receive Communion.
This is a very prayerful, joyous, and humbling ministry. Those who perform this ministry are quick to tell how their service is a gift that is returned many times over. Eucharistic Ministers must be 18 years of age and fully initiated into the Church with the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.
Following the required training, the ministers are mandated by the Archbishop upon the recommendation of the pastor. Eucharistic Ministers are then scheduled for their preferred Mass. Schedules are done one month at a time and are published approximately two weeks prior to the beginning of the month.
